So… for the Senator, the question of whether or not Trump obstructed justice hinges on the definitions of specific words used by the President. The President used the words “I hope” but not “I order,” Or “I direct” or “Command you.”

To which I say: In conversation, subtext and tone matter! I’ll say it again: Subtext and Tone matter.

Subtext is: the underlying or implicit meaning of a set of words or literary work. It’s what’s implied by the words said… or implied by what’s NOT said.

And tone is… “how” you say something. Do you raise your voice? Whisper? Say it slowly? Or sternly.

Quick example, senator. Let’s say you’re having sex with your wife. In the dark. With your clothes on. Like a good Christian. And 20 seconds later, your swimmers make a mad dash for the exit… Your wife is disappointed, but you say: “Sorry.”

But, you say “Sorry” like this: “Sorry.” Do you think your wife thinks you are actually sorry?

The point is: how a person says a thing, CHANGES THE MEANING AND INTENT OF THE SPECIFIC WORDS!
